We are proud and pleased that one of our very own ministers, Rev. Robert A Knight, Jr., has become the full time Senior Pastor of New Birth Baptist Church. His Ordination Service on Saturday, January 5th, 2008 at 1pm was a spirit filled and blessed event. Rev. Keys of Community Baptist Church, Waterloo, Iowa officiated. Soon the video and audio from the service will be posted to this website.

Bro. David Kwaw-Mensah informs us that we have reached a crossroad. We are called unto holiness. Are you walking in holiness? Holiness is a way of life. We encourage you to take forty minutes of your day to listen to the inspired Word of God.
Bro. Rollins challenges us to see if our lives contain "Pharisee-ism", title of the sermon. The Pharisees placed themselves in the seat of Moses. They assumed a position and authority that was not theirs. For the saved, Jesus is the "Good Shepherd". Jesus gave His life for His sheep. In service to Christ, Pastors are under shepherds. Sometimes in churches, preachers take the position of shepherd which has not been given to them. Under shepherds are servants to the shepherd. We must be careful to stay bound to the charges that God the Father has assigned to us. Our deeds must not be done to be noticed by man but rather be done to please and serve God. One chief characteristic to look for in a Pastor is humility.
In a humorous way, Bro. Rollins tells us "there is no word in the Bible that is worst than the word whoa. When God says whoa, you should look out!". We encourage you to take forty five minutes of your day to listen to the inspired Word of God.
SPIRITFEST on April 18th was truly a grand time in the Lord. Sister Ilsa Evans, Spiritfest MC Host, said "the Bible says that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty". Certainly, the Spirit of the Lord was with us on Friday night at Spiritfest. Praises went up and the blessings came down. We had a joyous time in the Lord! The audio recording of Spiritfest is attached. Listen to it to be blessed again and again and again. We hope to see YOU at the next Spiritfest on Friday, June 20th.
The Youth department enjoyed an outing to the "I'll Make Me A World 2008" event on January 26, 2008! The photo gallery is attached in a link below:
I'll Make Me A World 2008
The FBC Youth traveled to Des Moines for the annual "I'll Make Me A World" event. We enjoyed food and entertainment from local businesses and talent. It was a time to learn of the diversity of Iowa. For many of our group, the end of the day came to a climatic finish with autographs and photos from actor Morris Chestnut.

Paul speaks to Galatia (area North of Israel and West of Rome - part of Asia Minor) about slipping away from the truth that had been ministered to them. Paul asks the Galatians "who has bewitched you?".
